Donate books – welcome in all shapes and sizes

Are you running out of shelving space? Do you have books you never read any more? Do you want to make space for new books? Have you inherited an obscure encyclopedia you think somebody else may enjoy more than the corner of your dusty cellar? Whatever the reasons, we welcome your books with open arms.

The books you donate to us get sorted through by our volunteers and expert on site book sellers into several categories. Most books you donate will find their way onto carefully organised Eco Communities Bookshop shelves. However, we also welcome books in "too loved" conditions as these get boxed up and picked up by a book revival company which pays for them in batches - even barely readable books contribute to your community this way!

Donating books is easy

All you have to do is find your nearest Eco Community Library and their respective opening times and bring in your books! Simply approach a member of staff or volunteer and let them know that you have books to donate. They will direct you to a place within the library where you can place your books, note down and log what has been donated, and if applicable, take your Eco Perks Member Number to pass on to the Eco Perks manager who will then reward you with points.

Get rewarded for your books

Don't forget to sign up to Eco Perks online before you come in, bring your Member Number and earn points for every book you donate (check Eco perks to find out about the points system).

You can "spend" the points anywhere within Eco Communities: get more books from the Eco Communities Bookshop, relax with a cuppa from the Eco Communities Cafe, you could even amass enough to buy a computer!
